Kenton Chin was amazing with The Backbeats
— especially singing Katie Perry's "Firework —
but here we can hear him all by himself, singing the melody,
accompanied by harmonies sung by him
and rhythm provided by him,
on a song he wrote himself,
based on a poem by Dylan Thomas.
I know this is a personal preference, but this is one more song where I prefer the a cappella version to the original. And not just because I heard the remake first.
First, here's the original music video from Gotye.
And now here's the a cappella remake by Pentatonix. Seriously reduced production values, but I like the song so much better.
